As events in my story spin out of control due to, among other factors, stock market crashes, promises abrogated, people thieving, trolls gorging, sump pumps overflowing, and patents ever renewed, the Bernard Olcott Story is taking a break for a while.
The end point to this Phase One of the Story will be November 1995. I have been building up to it for 3 years now. We’re just about there. I’ve got one story written, another one started, and the end in sight.
Update below!
I mentioned “Phase One.” Is there a Phase Two? Yes, there is. Phase Two covers my Dad’s last 10 years. It wasn’t not easy to deal with a declining patriarch. Luckily, Phase One concludes with me in a fortified, protected position.
And Phase Three? As Dick Martin used to say, “you bet your sweet bippy!” Phase Three covers the period after Dad’s passing and it is just about as bizarre as you can imagine. You could say that I am still in Phase Three. Hopefully, this part of the story will end with equity for all.
So, for the next few weeks, Dear Reader, feel free to reread my top 5 stories of all time:
If you already read ’em, please consider these — some of my personal favorites, somewhat overlooked:

Just scroll down. You’re sure to find a story of interest.
Thanks for checking in.
UPDATE April 13, 2018: I am taking a longer time to consider the next batch of stories — which I intend to be the finale. When all 5 (or so) stories are completed, I’ll give notice that the series will resume.
A judicious move. You have a rich font of material for people to enjoy, as you cite in your note. I would like to have seen your son’s essay and ‘The Pride of Bernard Olcott’ also listed. As one who never had the privilege of being a father — ¡at least to my best knowledge! — I would use my bragging rights to excess if I had raised children like these two.
